Cromwell, located at the geographic center of Connecticut, was once part of Middletown.   It  is 14 miles south of Hartford and 28 miles northeast of New Haven.  Cromwell's eastern boundary is formed by the Connecticut River. 

Cromwell has become the nationally known site of the annual Travelers Championship (formerly the Canon Greater Hartford Open) golf tournament at the Tournament Players Club golf course. On the third weekend in June, Cromwell also hosts the annual Cromwell Rosetown Celebration featuring cow chip casino, crafts, business expo and other delightful entertainment.

In mid-October, over 1,500 businesses and organizations come to Cromwell for the county's business EXPO. This weekend-long event highlights just some of the services and business opportunities available in the area and attracts thousands of guests from all over New England.
